The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas was built in 1995 by Peter Morton, one of the founders of the Hard Rock chain of cafes and hotels. In 1999, the building underwent a $100 million expansion that added four restaurants, a guest tower and a spa. In 2006, Morton sold the hotel with rights to the Hard Rock namesake in the Western United States to the Morgans Hotel Group. A second expansion started in 2007.

The hotel also features 60,000 square feet of meeting room space and 136,000 square feet of additional special-event space for parties, weddings and other events.
