History
The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas was built in 1995 by Peter Morton, one of the founders of the Hard Rock chain of cafes and hotels. In 1999, the building underwent a $100 million expansion that added four restaurants, a guest tower and a spa. In 2006, Morton sold the hotel with rights to the Hard Rock namesake in the Western United States to the Morgans Hotel Group. A second expansion started in 2007.

The yellow and brown neon guitar is 90-feet tall and marks the entrance to the hotel. The Hard Rock Cafe chain's trademark insignia also sits at the top of the hotel as a neon sign. The building itself is a wide, white structure surrounded by palm trees.

The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas sits on nearly 17 acres. The hotel's 11-story tower offers just fewer than 650 guest rooms, 64 suites and one penthouse. The casino offers 30,000 square feet of gaming and the spa is 8,000 square feet. The hotel also features 60,000 square feet of meeting room space and 136,000 square feet of additional special-event space for parties, weddings and other events.
